Lining every beach you'll find friendly tour guides and boat owners who'll go out of their way to get you windsurfing in no-time.
Be sure to check that your travel insurance covers such sports if you intend on taking advantage of these. A prime choice spot for indulging in wind or kite surfing is at Le Morne, in the south-west of Mauritius. At the Base of the Brabant Mountain, you'll find a white sandy beach and turquoise lagoon bordered entirely by a reef six hundred metres from the shore. Beyond the lagoon, there are two wave spots, one of which is perfect for beginners whilst the other should only be braved by experienced surfers.
