With great new self catering Villas, apartments and bungalows being built around the island now, Mauritius is no-longer just for the rich. Whether you are travelling as a family, a small group of friends, or even a large group, there is something for everyone.
Self catering accommodation is great, because you only pay for the accommodation, not on a per-person basis, as you do with Hotels. For example, if a group of six are travelling, you could very easily find a two year old luxury villa, just three minutes walk from the beach, restaurants and shops for around just 800 euros for a whole week. That's works out to just 114 euros per person!!! This is often how much it would cost for just one night at some hotels on the island. Food isn't expensive by european standards, and all accommodations are fitted with kitchens and often also close to great restaurants, supermarkets and eateries if you don't feel like cooking.
